Spectroscopy and high temperature heat-pipe oven technology for production and detection of various material vapors
Enterprise Sciences was engaged to develop spectroscopic methods for detecting the presence of specific material vapors in rocket motor exhaust and in the burn products of various energetic mixtures. Such measurements are difficult because of the fleeting nature of the vapors and because the vapors have very weak emission signatures. Enterprise Sciences resolved these issues with fast probe absorption spectroscopy that was developed explicitly for this project and was fielded on various energetic burn facilities. Enterprise Sciences also developed a laboratory heat-pipe vapor source to provide accurate calibration and certification of the diagnostic systems, which enabled accurate quantification of the concentrations of the measured vapors in the field measurements.
